The joy of mission

It was with joy I stepped on African soil in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1979. A childhood dream had been fulfilled. This dream was fuelled by the faith of my family and community in Ireland, inspired by the reading of missionary magazines, like Africa and the Far East and the ever present collection box for the black babies at home, in the parish church and in the local village shops.

Volunteers

We seek skilled, responsible volunteers who are ready to commit their services for at least one year. We welcome applications from people with skills in teaching, construction, carpentry, administration, accounting, medicine, engineering, information technology and psychosocial work.  A volunteer needs to have a real desire to work alongside disadvantaged people, be ready to learn from other cultures and be open to enter into a holistic approach to development which includes the right to spiritual and physical well-being. 

We urgently need volunteers for the following positions overseas:

• English teachers for China, Uganda and Tanzania
• Science Teachers for Tanzania
• Administrator with business and financial expertise for Kenya and South Sudan
