Strategic Planning Workshop

The Irish Jesuit Mission Office held a four-day Workshop from March 7th – 12th to re-envision its apostolic mandate and to discern its future direction in light of the current realities of diminishing numbers of Irish Jesuit missionaries and the growth of the Society in Africa and Asia.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Zambia /Malawi, Eastern Africa, China, Korea and Irish Provinces as well as invited guests from Irish Aid, Misean Cara, Slí Eile, Jesuit Refugee Services and the Voluntary Missionary Movement. It was held in the Manresa Tertianship in Dublin, was facilitated by Eamonn Brehony and funded by Misean Cara.

The Workshop provided an opportunity to explore new partnerships and possibilities for mutual enrichment through the relationship of  the Irish Province and its partner Provinces in Africa and Asia.

The Provincial, Fr. John Dardis and the Pastoral  Delegate, PJ Farrell, attended the final morning of the workshop in order to be briefed on the outcome and to share their response.
